I’ve something different for my blog post today. It’s called the Liebster Blog Award!
My friend, Nancy Jardine , nominated me for the Liebster Award. Apparently in German that means loved one, or favorite See Nancy’s blog here
This award is all about answering questions on your blog and is also a game of “tag you’re it”. It’s always a fantastic feeling to be nominated for some award, or other, and nominating people for awards is great fun too. So… that’s why I agreed to play and pick four of my favorite colleagues.
All that’s needed is to read the rules, play the game and then check out some blog links of other players. (You can also back track)
1. You must tell 11 things about yourself.
2. Answer the questions your nominator gives you.
3. Create 11 questions for the bloggers you nominate.
4. Choose new blogs with fewer than 200 followers and link them to your post.
5. If you’re nominated, please leave a comment on this post with the URL of your Liebster Award post.
And now for my answers to the questions Nancy has asked me and three other people.
Favourite childhood memory?
Riding my horses. I was first strapped into a basket chair saddle (probably before I could even walk) on an ancient pony who probably taught my mother to ride. I didn’t stop until my spine was damaged in an accident. I was the original Thelwell girl – pigtails sticking out at right angles on a tubby pony, going hell for leather at the local gymkhanas.
You love snow or sun/ and why?
Slightly ambivalent about both. We get a great deal of both here and while I love being able to sit out I hate it too hot. Similarly I get like a 6 year old when the first snow falls and after a week of saying how beautiful it is, I would rather it disappeared again.
How many countries have you lived in?
Four (five it you count Brittany as a separate nation, which they want to do) England, Scotland, France and Spain.
Undies to bed or commando?
Commando. Unless it is really cold. When our heating packed in a couple of years ago I was looking extremely desirable in a thick sweatshirt, jogging pants, football socks and a woolly hat. I don’t think I scored!
Favourite sport to watch/ participate in?
None. I am possibly the least sporty person you will ever meet. I like watching equestrian sports and I will go to a rugger match just for the fun of shouting but my spine and various other problems mean that I don’t play anything.
Best place you’ve ever visited?
Sheesh! That is a hard one. I thing Latvia or Lithuania because we went there when they were newly opened up, ex Soviet bloc countries and it was fascinating to see how people lived. There was a fabulous mixture of old and new. BMWs hurtling down the only two roads in the country and peasants harvesting with horses and carts.
Your ideal house?
A shack in the middle of a forest. Preferably with a barn to store all my junk. I’m a dreaful hoarder.
Independent, or like a lot of help with whatever life throws at you?
Depends. Mostly I like to do things on my own and sort myself out. I’ve been like that all my life but when I am laid up, as I am at the moment, I have to accept help from others which is horrible. I am not good at being helped. I am the one that is always there to help others. It’s a fault. I don’t ask for help when I should do.
How many cousins?
Hundreds! Eight first cousins who all have children of their own and some also have grandchildren so there are lots of us around. Obviously I don’t see many of them much because of where I live but the ones in Scotland I see once a year.
Method of transport most liked by you?
Silly question! Motorbike of course!
4 things guaranteed to make you laugh?
Just about anything! I am a world class giggler and go into fits of hysterical laughter at very little.
Dirty jokes (I have a filthy mind)
My husband making up swearwords because he is very inventive (and filthy)
Thinking up captions for photos on Facebook. I love making other people laugh too.
And now, my own choice of victims invitees
