Romantic ole me!

Remember I told you (probably several times) that my work defies genre. Whether it is under this name or working as my twin, Cameron, I don’t like pigeon-holing.

Then I realised the common factor in all of them. I am a sucker for a good love story, the more improbable the better and in the least likely of situations. Having been hit by this realisation I looked at my tags on Amazon – Shaman’s Drum is Romance. Hah!

I needed very little encouragement to send my application form off and yesterday I heard that I have been accepted. I am now, officially – A ROMANTIC NOVELIST     Angela Lansbury in Death on the Nile

Yes, I am going to have to try very hard to resist the urge to dress up like Salome Otterbourne in Death on the Nile or use a very long cigarette-holder and I still giggle when I think about it but, according to the Romantic Novelists’ Association, that’s what I am since they accepted me into their number.

Here I am in traditional “awfur pose”.

  1. I’m happy you have found a place for your book genre. I know how tough it is when you are not really sure ‘where’ you should be sending them or what publishers to approach – or what to tag your novel. Everyone says how it doesn’t matter, but for marketing it is a bit of a nightmare if you don’t know!

Funny how we can never see what is under our nose, but then we are far too close to our own work most of the time.

    1. It’s only my male cousins whose toes will curl up in shame. Me, I’m delighted.
Thanks everyone for your good wishes …. excuse me, I must go and find a sparkly turban complete with feather and a pair of elbow length gloves.
