The Independent Mr. Gallacher.

Don’t look up everyone as the passenger on the magic carpet today is Seumas Gallacher and he might be wearing a kilt. Cameron! Eyes down please!

Here you are, Big Man! How lovely to see you. You’ll feel the cold here coming from your warmer climes. Come on into the kitchen and sit by the stove with us while we get you a hot drink with a wee something in it.-em me 14  So how are things?

SG : …hello, Ailsa.. and nice to see you again, Cameron… I checked with Glockamorra prior to jumping on the Magic Carpet you so kindly sent to fetch me, and Things are Just Tickety-Boo… nice threads on there by the way… did you crochet that one yerself, m’Lady?

Oh yes! It was meant to be a dog blanket but now I can’t get Cam to take it off. I know everyone is asking this of you but I’m so interested; Are you happier having complete control of your own destiny again as a writer? I am aware that a lot of people are doing that these days.

SG: …I’m as happy as a wee haggis in glabber… got my hands on everything again (but don’t tell the cops, huh?)

While I know you are still on great terms with the gang at Crooked Cat Publishing, do you think you’d ever go down that route again or are you better on your own?

SG: …yes, as I’ve written elsewhere, I’m glad it’s clear that there’s no negativity toward the good Stephanie and Laurence Patterson at Crooked Cat, and hopefully my amicable relationships with the rest of the scribblers in the Cattery are as solid as ever… it was just time for me to revert to totally self-publishing… would I ever pursue that avenue again?… they say never say ‘never’, and it would be dumb to reject any future overtures from a huge international publishing house if they came calling with the Holy Grail of Large Advances and/or Film or TV deals… (hint, hint… nudge, nudge)

What was the clincher for you?VWB cover

SG: …without a doubt, the issue of ‘control’… since ever I was stricken with the writing bug, I’ve enjoyed the total immersion in the self-publishing gig… the Amazon Kindle phenomenon… the getting the cover art work designed… the building the platform of a following via the SOSYAL NETWURKS… the Author blog (a mammoth change in lifestyle for this ol’ Jurassic at the time in 2013)… I’ve always, rightly or wrongly, embraced the vitality that comes with at least notionally being in control of yer own destiny… the simple pleasure of being able to check at any time how each of my wee literary babies is faring on the Great God Amazon also has a practical issue attached… now I’m able once more to track daily which of the books needs more immediate promotional emphasis… so it’s all about ‘control’… NUTHIN more, NUTHIN less…

Completely understand. As a minor control freak and sociopath myself .. I feel the same. Apart from that, which is a big change in any writer’s life, how are things? Do you still have a day-job? Are you still enjoying living out East and are the troubles there having any effect on you? I have a step-son in Beirut and I worry about him a lot.

SG: …I do indeed still have my day job, which is running my own small (but perfectly formed) Management Advisory Services firm, involved in such areas as corporate trouble-shooting, business development, corporate governance, restructuring, reorganisation and realignment… in a phrase, ‘fixing stuff’… I shuttle regularly ‘twixt Abu Dhabi and Bahrain in pursuit of my business engagements, and enjoy that immensely… so far no collateral trouble from the rest of the region’s civil and political nonsense…Cover for Violin Man

Tell us about your books, Big Man – some of my friends may not be as up on them as I am – give us some titles and hint at the genre, maybe a wee teaser? Is your drink OK, need a top up? Cam is hovering at your elbow if you need anything.

SG: … my Jack Calder crime thriller series spins around former-SAS, special forces officers who form their own specialist security firm… in the course of looking after their clients’ interests they run up against international crime lords, drug barons, global prostitution rings, people-traffickers, money-launders and killers… with the military restrictive gloves off, they are at liberty to deploy their black operations skills to deliver the bad guys the proverbial ‘belt in the mouth’, but on a more ruthless, prejudicial scale… all my titles are available on Amazon Kindle…

…oops, is that the time?… I’d better get back aboard yer Aerial Axminster … my laptop’ll be wond’ring where I am… thanks again for yer hospitality, m’Lady, Ailsa… see yeez later… LUV YEEZ!

And we luvs yee too, Big Man. Cam will help you onto the carpet and load you up with local goodies to take back to the sunny lands. Come back soon – Haste ye back xxx

Biographyfront view SP

SEUMAS GALLACHER escaped from the world of finance seven years ago, after a career spanning three continents and five decades.

As the self-professed ‘oldest computer Jurassic on the planet’, his headlong immersion into the dizzy world of eBook publishing opened his eyes, mind, and pleasure to the joys of self-publishing. As a former businessman, he rapidly understood the concept of a writer’s need to ‘build the platform’, and from a standing start began to develop a social networking outreach, which now tops 22,500 direct contacts.

His ‘Jack Calder’ crime thriller series, THE VIOLIN MAN’S LEGACY, VENGEANCE WEARS BLACK and SAVAGE PAYBACK have blown his mind with more than 80,000 e-link downloads to date. His fourth, KILLER CITY was launched in August 2015.

He started a humorous, informative, self-publishers blog three years ago, never having heard of a ‘blog’ prior to that, was voted ‘Blogger of the Year 2013’ and now has a loyal blog following on his networks. He says the novels contain his ‘Author’s Voice’, while the blog carries his ‘Author’s Brand’. And he’s LUVVIN IT!
